Retrospective

Looking back at Fall 2025 semester and path forward.

I am currently pursuing a Single Subject Teaching credential in Mathematics. I have to admit that the Fall 2025 semester was much faster-paced than I had originally thought. I thought it would complement my job and family roles, and that I could ease into this. It did not happen this way. I started with 4 classes and was planning to narrow it down to 2… this task proved to be really challenging. Not only could I not find two courses to pick, but one of my classmates also encouraged me to petition to add one more. Looking back, it was the best decision that I have made. Did it make it more challenging? Yes. Did I have love/hate feelings about this? Yes. At the same time, I am really grateful to my classmate for planting a seed that opened doors for me.

When a Math Teacher Position was posted in a local school district, even though I did not have all the requirements yet, because they have been in progress with exemplory results to date, I was encouraged to apply. When the same position opened up in December when I was about to complete my classes, I applied again. This one class, enabled me to apply and get apploved for intenship track. I am not waiting to hear from that district.

The lesson in this is, opportunities are out there all the time. It is our choice to take them. If this message resonates with you, please follow me on LinkedIn:
